Register to Bid

In order to buy with us at auction you will need to register your details. To do so, please download the online form here, send a request for a form to be mailed out or if you are in the vicinity the form can be collected in person.

Once you have completed the relevant form we can issue you with a buyer’s number (paddle) allowing you to bid in our forthcoming sale by telephone or in person.

To register you will need two forms of identification:

1) Passport, photographic Drivers Licence or government-issued photo ID.

2) A recent utility bill or official letter with your name and address.

You may also be asked to provide a financial reference and/or a deposit as a condition. It is recommended that new clients register at least 24 hours in advance of the sale day to allow us time to process your information.

You can register by telephone/and/or email but we will need to view your appropriate ID as described above.

Once you have registered with us this usually enables you to bid in person at all future sales by The Magellan Centre.

Following registration in person, it is also possible to arrange to bid by telephone or to arrange an absentee bid. This can be arranged by completing the relevant form when it is available prior to the auction.

 

Registration will be available 4–6 weeks prior to each auction date.

Registration to bid in person takes place at the Magellan reception office.

Once you have registered with us this usually enables you to bid in person for the long term at all future Magellan Centre sales.

In order to complete the registration process, applicants must bring with them the stated required documents which may change from time to time.

Following registration in person, it is also possible to arrange to bid by telephone or to arrange an absentee bid. This can be arranged by simply requesting the relevant form from reception.

The Magellan Centre reception will assist you with registration and answer any questions you may have.

We will call you directly from our saleroom a few lots before your chosen lot so we can bid on your behalf with the auctioneer. It is recommended you consider leaving us a “back-up absentee bid” too in case we cannot reach you while the sale is taking place.
